MTI or Mother tongue influence ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲ ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೆ ಇದೆ. ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವಾಗ ಆದ ಕೆಲವು ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಯ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಇಂಥ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವೂ ಎದುರಿಸಿರುತ್ತೀರ!
ನಾನು: Hey I am going...
ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿ: Going ಹೋಮಾ?
ನಾನು: Are you attending the training?
ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿ: Who? me ಯಾ? ನಾನು: See...this is Ram's BDA site
ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿ: Oh! It is in the same areaವಾ?

My observation tells me that MTI is more pronouced with tamilians. . perhaps that has got to do with their linguistic intolerance too. Ask any north Indian residing in Chennai ;). No offence mates.
